Thousand Tribes - The Dance

Ancient Gods send me a vision
And I saw...

A new faith on the Northern Land
Veiled the Old God's faces from glances
Some hearts only still keeping
The memory of the past

To the ancient heathen temple
An old man came
A crook covered with runes
Sized in his hand
Sitting by the stone image
Done on the ground
He Smiled

He said:

"My old eye can see the things
A few can see
A lot of my people died
Denying a new god
But the new temples
Are covered with patterns
Our temples were cowered with
Let them frame
The angels & saint's faces
In songs about Christ
Our melodies are kept
This is the way to save our traditions
Our baptized children dance
On the holly glade
The Old Dances
They sing about the new saints
Like ancient scalds
About the Asgard Gods"

The Dance of the Vans people
Is like the dance of a swan
Girls dancing & circling around
A fire like feathers
They seem to fall in it
But the fire is friendly to them
It doesn't want to swallow them
It plays with them
Like father with his daughters
Fellows singing, girls laughing
Logs cracking merged
The sound of thunder was
Heard from the Heathen
The Ancient Gods threw the lightning
To show their joy
Of the man children
